Do part time state employees get benefits?

Yes, the part-time state employees are entitled to some benefits. Leave, retirement and insurance are some of the benefits part-time employees are eligible for. If the part-timer is under permanent appointments can qualify on a prorated basis to the same benefits as full time employees. They may choose to be on the health insurance plan but they would pay more for the premium.
